Unwind and Unplug With a Bike Ride or Jog Along the Perkiomen Trail

July 19, 2016 | klein

The Perkiomen Trail in Montgomery County has a reputation for being the most beautiful of its kind in southeastern Pennsylvania. The trail runs about 20 miles long, linking the Schuylkill River Trail in Oaks to Green Lane Park. It runs through small towns along the Perkiomen Creek, where you can conveniently stop at small businesses for drinks or a quick bite while traveling the trail. There are also plenty of barbecue grills if you’d rather bring your own food to make!

Escape on a bike ride through the trail’s serene wooded and rural areas. The deep shade from the trees makes the Perkiomen Trail an ideal choice for summer biking. The trail’s surface mostly consists of cinders and gravel, so bringing your mountain bike is strongly suggested. Make your way Northwest towards Collegeville for a place to rest and take a water break. As a plus, you’ll also find restrooms along here at this rest area.
